Downton Abbey Inspired Crochet Hats

Because I love to crochet… AND I love Downton Abbey, I’ve been on the lookout for some vintage flapper and 1920’s crochet hat patterns.  I’ve found a few that I liked, but nothing that said “BUY ME NOW”.  Well, that is, until I found Kallie Designs shop on etsy.  I’m not even sure how I found her patterns – I wasn’t looking, but one of her hat patterns popped up in a search for something else.  Anyway, check out these hat patterns:

I think the green one is my favorite, but I seriously love all three of them.  Now, the question is… would YOU wear a Downton Abbey inspired cloche hat?

Tuesday Treasury – Shamrock Love

I put together another fun shamrock and green treasury – there is a LOT of Irish love on etsy this year. So many fun items to choose from… check out what I featured!  You can click on the image below to go straight to the Etsy Treasury page.

Etsy On Sale – a review

If you are an etsy seller, and you would like to put your items on sale in your shop, you need to check out the new app from EtsyOnSale.com.   I tried it this last week, with several items in my DelightCrochet.etsy.com shop.

Joining EtsyOnSale.com is quick and easy, and I think it took me all of ten minutes to set up my first sale.  I moved several items to a “sale” category in my shop, clicked through the “set up” form in a jiffy, and voila – 17 items on sale for 10% off.

The only thing I would prefer is if I didn’t to actually move any listings, but could hand-pick random items and put them on sale.  Beyond that little nit-pick, I was completely happy with the set-up process.

I have been watching my stats this week, and I had a little extra traffic from the site.  I had one sale that was “pink related” (which was the theme of my sale).  Whether this sale was directly from traffic from EtsyOnSale.com or not, I’m not sure… but either way, the app made it quick and easy for me to discount a few of my items!  I’ll definitely be planning another sale in November.

What. No Mints? An Etsy Shop…

I had SO much fun yesterday looking at all the etsy minis from shop owners who contacted me.  I was able to heart a bunch of items to feature and showcase here in the coming weeks, and first up to be featured are some adorable items from whatnomints.etsy.com.   She announces in her shop, “discover cute, embroidered, science and nerdy felt goodies that will add some handmade personality to your day-to-day!”  And, she is SO right!  Here are a few of my favorites, perfect for fall (and the science geek in you).

Sweet Funky Love etsy shop

My friend Amber recently opened up a shop selling adorable hand-made headbands and hair clips.  Her shop is called Sweet Funky Love, and she describes it as, “your place to find that perfectly sweet, perfectly funky headband, barrette and accessory!” Check it out:

I will for SURE be getting some of her headbands for my nieces for Christmas gifts!  Perfect gifts and stocking stuffers…

Send Me Your Etsy Minis

Because I’m slightly more than a little totally addicted to Etsy.com, I can guarantee that at least half of my posts will feature artists and crafters I find on etsy.  I love, love, love the idea of having a blog that not only promotes what I do (in a small way), but also offers an opportunity for others to promote what THEY do.

I hope to make it VERY easy for etsy shop owners to advertise here on BlogCrafts.com.  And one of the ways I’ll do this is with the Etsy Mini Page.   Do you have an etsy shop?  Send me your etsy mini code, and you’ll be added to the page!*  For now I’ll just add them as they come in, but if it grows too large for one page, I’ll break the minis into categories for easy viewing.

So… email me your code, folks!  char @ blogcrafts.com (without the spaces).  Please select thumbnail size of 75 and 1 column, 3 rows when creating your code to send my way.

*I reserve the right to refuse any etsy mini with items that might clash with my “family friendly” atmosphere.  Thanks for understanding!
